Client Description:

A dynamic company - well established and growing exponentially - our client provides antenna and power products for wireless technologies across the globe.

We’re seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to bring their understanding of materials and ‘hands on’ experience with product packaging to enhance the design team as an individual contributor.

Responsibilities Will Include:

This engineer will provide a solid understanding of materials and packaging as well as mechanical support of new product development and current product lines. Other tasks will include performance characteristic testing of new and existing products, technical assistance to customers and the internal team, and responsibility for producing new part design samples in a timely and efficient manner.

Some position specifications are as follows:

Select optimum materials for product construction that will meet mechanical, environmental requirements while being cost effective as solutions. Perform tests and use the results to improve design and reduce risks prior to manufacturing. Meet manufacturing, cost, and time line goals while ensuring advanced technologies are implemented within designs.

Work with internal and external teams (customers, sales managers, project managers, et al) to identify customer requirements, establish design expectations, as well as meet the agreed upon design, performance, and goals for projects.

Coordinate and track prototype process, milestones and pre- production runs to mature the design of components and assemblies so the finished material meets the customer needs, while ensuring a smooth release of products into manufacturing meeting customer requirements and established timelines.

Write technical papers on significant findings in support of sales training, product promotion and overall company advancement. Excel in technical proficiency by keeping abreast of new trends and scientific developments in the areas of metals, corrosion, polymers, and materials characterization techniques.

Requirements:

Skills in Pro/E and AutoCad, especially with design of assemblies.

Knowledge and experience in one or more area: injection molded plastics and elastomers, die-castings, ceramic materials, sheet metal and metal finishing, printed circuit boards, coaxial cable, connectors and/or fasteners.

Knowledge of project management and the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.

Good oral and written communication skills as well as standard computer skills to include experience with spreadsheets and basic graphing software.
