Client Description:

Our client is an innovative developer and manufacturer of wireless last mile solutions for high-speed IP based video and data services. Over its nearly 10 years of existence, this privately held company has been a technology leader.

Now our client is seeking its next stage of evolution that will move it from a product oriented firm to a systems solutions provider in licensed and unlicensed RF bands. To take this important step, the company is seeking a CTO who from previous experience, can now lead the engineering team to develop new customer-sensitive, customer-focused, world-class wireless connectivity solutions.

In order to achieve the growth expected in this fixed wireless market, the CTO will be able to examine current core competencies and develop new areas for advancement primarily aimed at its global carrier and ISP customer base. By adding new value to the company’s engineering mix, this CTO will provide forward looking technology direction, work directly with the CEO for both tactical and strategic growth, and be in position to effectively manage the corresponding staffing growth expected over the next 3 to 5 years.

Responsibilities Will Include:

Reporting directly to the CEO, and with minimal supervision, the CTO will be responsible for:

· all facets of the company’s technology operations including -- new product development and management, sustaining engineering management, strategic forward looking technology assessment, and business development.

· leading the technical staff and ensuring timely and on-budget completion of program deliverables.

· leading the technology decisions involving: hardware, firmware and software platforms, third-party vendors, and web-based technology and tools including open source executable program development.

Requirements:

· Must have strong understanding of IEEE802 specifications with strong networking and systems engineering experience.

· Prior experience as a design engineer with ASIC/FPGA implementation and RF development.

· Experience with wireless broadband transmission solutions over Ethernet interface

· Prior experience as a CTO or Director level Product Manager within the industry of fixed wireless access strongly desired.

· Experience working in RF start-up technology, growth oriented company.

· Undergraduate technical degree, BSEE, computer science or a related field with advanced technical studies in RF technology.
