Our client is a world leader in the manufacture of components and solutions well suited for communications, transportation, manufacturing, test and measurement, aerospace, defense, and medical engineering. Products – off the shelf as well as custom - include but are not limited to wire and cable, RF connectors, RF components, premise wiring, machine cabling, antennas, cable harnesses, and specialized cable for alternative energy.
We seek a fresh perspective for their Industrial market segment – a sales and marketing professional experienced in strategic account management; a Sales Director to lead, motivate and manage the division’s regional sales managers across North America.
Responsibilities
Will Include:
Reporting to the General Manager of North America as well as interacting with engineering and leadership from the corporate HQ in Europe, the new Sales Director will develop and implement sales and marketing plans that allow for successful achievement of a Million increase over last year, continuing the year over year growth in sales of 15% in this target market area.
Recent active experience selling to and understanding of the US industrial market is required including some experience approaching major defense integrators and contractors such as General Dynamics, Raytheon, and Boeing.
Additionally, since the industrial business segment’s inception several years ago, the test and measurement market has diminished while alternative and solar energy has offered great potential for growth. A candidate with experience selling to this ‘new’ marketplace brings additional value to our client.
Management responsibilities will include six regionally located sales people, the director of field application engineering, and interaction with various manufacturers' representatives throughout North America.
Requirements:
• Experience with sales of similar products.
• Significant and successful sales experience in the industrial marketplace (aerospace, defense, instrumentation, industrial wiring)
• Active successful sales experience to new industrial markets
• Minimum of 10 years experience in sales & marketing
• Significant and successful experience managing remote sales teams.
• Ability to travel 60 to 70 % from homebased office
• BA or BS (business or technical) is required.
