My client has been a product oriented, silo type, sales organization. Over the past two years with the acquisition of several companies and addition of many new product lines this global wireless hardware engineering and manufacturing corporation is now re-organizing into Technical Markets and Key Accounts.
The technical markets include wireless handheld devices, telematics, consumer electronics, and RF networking systems. With nearly billion in global sales, and a strong background in proprietary products, the company now offers a wide range of wireless hardware products and services throughout these markets around the globe.
Responsibilities

The Key Account area of the reorganized sales plan has some of the hottest drive to it now. Here the company is positioning global Key Account Managers at the headquarters of major targeted customers like HP, Ericsson, BMW, LG, Cisco, IBM, Microsoft, and Apple.
Some of these key accounts will be covered by internal promotions. The Key Account Management of Apple in San Jose and Microsoft in Seattle are the hottest and being pursued most aggressively for new talent.
We are seeking to identify a person who has significant international sales experience with global key accounts – specifically one person focused just on Apple and another person focused on Microsoft.
This Key Account leader will manage all the responsibilities for driving business relationships through Apple or Microsoft and will work on a matrix level with other regional sales people, engineers, product managers, and manufacturing locations to present our client’s package of products and services.
To do that effectively, the person needs to understand how to develop this relationship, find the wins, and nurture those wins into a long term partnering/vendor relationship.
This will require lots of energy, lots of travel, a strategic mind, and a sales closing mentality. And because it is such a highly visible position -- in fact the highest sales position in the corporation outside of a VP -- the person handling the key account responsibility will have a great deal of influence with the corporation’s overall strategic growth initiatives.
This should be lots of fun and a real challenge for a person who is technically savvy on wireless hardware products and has a track record of moving a customer out of a transactional relationship into a true business partner.

Requirements:
Sales experience… 7 yrs selling responsibility & account management
Key Account Sales… preferably to Apple in San Jose area OR Microsoft in Seattle.
Relationship building skills… develop true OEM customers & add value their purchase.
RF Product experience… have the technical savvy to sell a variety of RF components and wireless systems.
Technology:
